Tuesday April 15th
Woke up about 6 am to see the side of a lock outside our window. What a neat site. On the room TV there is a channel where you can watch the forward motion of the trip; so we watch both as we traveled through the locks. It was something to watch the gate disappear in front of us. A short time later we were in Vienna. Traveled into town after breakfast and toured a palace, a church, and the rest of downtown area that is preparing for a world soccer tournament. Amazing what they are going through for this event.
Came back to the ship by bus, ate again, then had time to EOYO (explore on your own). We walked around for a while even though it was bitterly cold with an extremely high wind. Found a lighthouse to photograph as well as the typical tourist stuff. Then of course we ate again!
For the evening we attended a musical, ballet and opera performance of Mozart and Strauss in the opera house. A wonderful program we truly enjoyed. No pictures were allowed to be taken so you will have to imagine the sounds and sites.
We are now sailing to Melk, Austria and hope to see more locks along the way.
