Monday April 14th
Started the day early with breakfast, packing, and checking out of the Budapest Hilton. Then began a very long day on a bus. After a drive around Pest, a stop at a motel to pick up others we were taken to Hero’s square, back to the castle district and on to the Citadella for lunch. After eating in a medieval building we started the road trip to Bratislava with one stop at a Hungarian gas station. When we entered Slovakia we were close to the ship and able to board right away -no motel as we had thought.
Upon entering we were given hot washcloths to freshen up before dinner. As we entered our room, we found our luggage waiting. A quick change and we headed to dinner - another wow! The menu was very exciting and incredibly good. See the pix in the slide show. An introduction to the crew and a fabulous folk show of song and dance of the area followed. It was the best music I’ve heard so far this trip. And now we really need a good rest as the ship sails to Vienna.
